The Mothers' Union (MU) Meeting is held on the second Thursday of each month in Church House
at 8.00 pm. If you are interested in finding out more about the
Mothers’ Union why not come along to one of our meetings, you will be
made very welcome and who knows you might enjoy it! More info.... MU meetings are very interesting with a variety of visiting speakers or guests followed by supper and a chat. We also enjoy fun and friendship together with visits to the theatre and cinema and an annual day out during the summer. We are involved in a very real and tangible way in all aspects of parish life with quite a number of our members carrying out other spiritual roles and serving on the Church Council and the Deanery Synod. The MU is a worldwide organisation which seeks to help the poor and suffering of the world and the marginalised of society. We support various local charities, for example, food parcels for Freshers week at Manchester University, the homeless on our streets and Fortalice the refuge for battered women and children in Bolton to name a few. But we also support each other, when you are a member of St Matthew’s MU you are among friends and friendship is a priceless gift! Our aim and purpose is to demonstrate the Christian faith in action by the transformation of communities worldwide through the nurture of family in its many forms.
